Back on Real Rock!

After an absence of nearly 10 years climbing on real rock (for me) several of us headed over to Birchen Edge in the Peaks.
Having climbed at the UEA wall for several months it was exhilarating to be climbing outside. Gritstone has superb friction; being able to smear on near vertical featureless surfaces reminded me of the confidence that you can have in your climbing shoe. The climbing seemed easier than on the UEA wall and since the trip my climbing indoors has definitely improved.
